Quality Management

Comprehensive, Proactive Quality Management

CDPHP maintains a comprehensive, proactive quality management program to ensure that our members receive high-quality, cost-effective care and service. The program monitors key indicators and helps highlight opportunities for improvement. To be successful, it requires the participation and support of the CDPHP board of directors, all staff members, and our network of participating physicians.

Quality Management Program Evaluation

Please read the annual CDPHP Quality Management Program Evaluation summarizing CDPHP quality management activities for 2007. It provides an overview of the program structure and includes a detailed chart of accomplishments and trends.

Members Surveyed About Their Doctors

CDPHP conducts an annual satisfaction survey. Members who had had recent contact with their primary care physicians (PCPs) were randomly selected for participation in the survey, and they were contacted either by mail or telephone. One of the survey questions asked members to rank their overall satisfaction with their PCP on a scale of 0 (worst) to 10 (best). Overall, members reported a very high level of satisfaction with our participating PCPs. The percentage of members giving their doctor a rating of 8, 9, or 10 was calculated for each physician.

These ratings are only based on previous customer experiences, are subjective in nature, and should not be the sole basis for selecting a physician, and are not clinical in nature, based on medical data, or a measure of clinical performance.

Hospital Quality and Patient Safety

CDPHP provides information to our members on hospital quality and patient safety, supplied by The Leapfrog Group and Hospital Compare, to help members make informed decisions about where to receive care within our hospital network. All the information is submitted voluntarily by hospitals.
