Meet Robert R. Hinckley

With more than 20 years of experience in media relations, health and government policy, Robert Hinckley is senior vice president, government and external relations – a position he has held since January 2006. He joined CDPHP as vice president, government and external relations in July 2004.

Prior to joining CDPHP, Hinckley served as senior deputy secretary of health and human services under New York State Governor George E. Pataki. Earlier in his career, Hinckley worked for the New York State Department of Health (DOH) -- first as the director of public affairs, then as the deputy commissioner for operations. While employed with the DOH, he was responsible for the agency's communications, advertising, and operations, and served as a senior policy advisor to the state health commissioner. Additionally, Hinckley has held positions with the State Office of General Services and the State Comptroller, where he worked as deputy press secretary under Ned Regan.

Hinckley holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Colgate University. He previously served as vice chair of the Commission on Healthcare Facilities in the 21st Century, and on the executive board of the American Marketing Association (AMA).
