Medicare Training for Brokers

Training & Certification

Per CMS regulations, CDPHP^® has implemented Medicare training for brokers’ standards for all Medicare brokers and agents. Your compensation for sales of all group HMO and PPO products within the CDPHP Group Medicare Choices platform depends upon successful completion of this training on an annual basis.  To fulfill this requirement, you must successfully complete the Fraud Waste and Abuse training as well as the CDPHP Group Medicare Advantage Certification test each year.

About the CDPHP Group Medicare test:

• You must take and pass the test annually to be certified.
• There are questions about our benefits and CMS compliance regulations.
• You must show identification, including your name and NYS license number and expiration.
• Only scores of 90 percent or higher qualify as successful completion.
• The deadline for taking the 2013 test is Oct. 15, 2012.

Note: There is a separate process to certify for Individual CDPHP Medicare Advantage products. The requirements are not interchangeable.

CDPHP group brokers can utilize our referral process for Medicare individuals who do not fit a group offering. The Individual Medicare Broker Referral Form must be completed and received by CDPHP before a prospective member contacts us.
