CDPHP® AND RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE KICK OFF HEALTHY CAMPUS INITIATIVE

Media Advisory - Photo and Interview Opportunities

ALBANY - Amidst the turbulent health care reform environment with discussions focusing on how to reduce costs and improve quality, Rensselaer and CDPHP have partnered to help Rensselaer’s staff embark on a journey to better health and wellness by launching the 2010 Rensselaer Healthy Campus Initiative.

As a major employer in this region, the Healthy Campus Initiative gives Rensselaer an opportunity to serve as a model for other area organizations seeking to improve the health of its employees while lowering costs. Sample programs under the initiative include, the Body Wise Fitness and Weight Loss Challenge, free on-campus mobile mammography, and walking/running program, among others.

Approximately 1,000+ Rensselaer employees are expected to attend and will have an opportunity to:

• Get a Biometrics screening (blood pressure/glucose/body fat analysis/cholesterol)
• Participate in stress management counseling
• Take away great information to help them improve their health and well being
