POS
Low-Cost In-Network Access And the Freedom to Choose
A point-of-service (POS) plan provides comprehensive benefits and services, with the added flexibility of seeing providers outside of the CDPHP Universal Benefits, Inc. (CDPHP UBI) network.
Employees select a primary care physician (PCP) from a large list of providers for easy, affordable access to quality medical care. Their PCP may, when necessary, refer them to participating specialists.
Less Cost, More Flexibility
- Members pay fixed copayments for in-network services and have access to high-quality in-network specialty care by referral.
- No claims to file for care received in-network.
- No charge for well-child care and many other routine preventive health care services, including annual physicals, Pap smears, mammograms, and prostate cancer screening provided in-network.
- To see participating specialists without a referral or a non-participating provider, members may pay a deductible and coinsurance.
- Worldwide coverage for emergency care.
Groups may also add riders to cover other benefits such as drug coverage or extended student coverage.
