Awards and Recognition

CDPHP awards and recognition image

The year 2018 was a banner year for CDPHP in terms of recognition for excellence. These awards are a reflection of our exceptional employees who come to work every day committed to making a difference.

J.D. Power

For starters, for the second year in a row, CDPHP was ranked “Highest in Member Satisfaction among Commercial Health Plans in New York” in the J.D. Power 2018 Member Health Plan Study.* The study, which evaluates 163 health plans in 22 regions across the country, measures member satisfaction, taking into account six different criteria.

NCQA

We were also recognized for exemplary care quality and service in the 2018 NCQA Health Insurance Plan Ratings. Our health plan was rated among the top plans in New York State, as well as in the nation, in the areas of consumer experience, prevention, and treatment, and was the only Medicaid plan in New York state rated 4.5 out of 5. Indeed, all of our plans earned a rating of 4.5 out of a possible 5 points.

Medicare Stars

Additionally, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) ranked our Medicare HMO plan and Medicare PPO plan with overall Star Ratings of 4.5 out of 5 stars, among the highest in New York state and the nation. The overall scores are based on several key criteria, including preventive health measures (e.g., screening tests, vaccinations), management of chronic conditions, member experience with the health/drug plan, member complaints and changes in the health/drug plan’s performance, and customer service.

People’s Choice Award

In 2018, CDPHP also received local recognition for plan excellence, having been selected by readers of the Daily Gazette, a Schenectady-based newspaper, as the “best health insurance.” The award was part of the paper’s People’s Choice Best of the Best awards.

Best Companies to Work for in New York

At CDPHP, we work hard to create and maintain a workplace culture that values service, integrity, accountability, health, learning, and high performance. In 2018, we were rewarded for these efforts by being named by the New York State Society of Human Resource Management as one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York, for the tenth consecutive year. The award is based on our workplace practices, systems, and policies, as well as the results of a survey of staff members that measures employee engagement.

American Heart Association

As a health plan, we were also gratified to receive “Gold Level” recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA) for taking significant steps to build a culture of health and wellness in the workplace. The award is based on the AHA’s Workplace Health Achievement Index, which uses science-based best practices to evaluate the overall quality and comprehensiveness of workplace health programs. Among other workplace benefits, CDPHP employees enjoy access to a free onsite fitness center and dozens of fitness classes and wellness programs, a cafeteria that offers a variety of nutritious foods, flu shot clinics, health screenings, chair massage, and weight loss and smoking cessation programs.
