CDPHP Annual Report

An Extraordinary Year, Both Challenging and Illuminating

The year 2020 was a study in contrasts: fear and triumph, lockdown and momentum, uncertainty and fortitude, darkness and light. The pandemic raised so many doubts and concerns: about the health of our loved ones and the community at large; the ability of the local business community – physicians included – to maintain operations, staffing, and financial viability; and the fate of a host of cash-strapped community organizations, among many others. Yet, as challenging as the year was, it was also illuminating, revealing how resilient and resourceful our community and health systems are, and how adversity can give rise to innovations in health care that were previously unimagined or underutilized.

For CDPHP, the pandemic inspired our Hospital to Home program to go virtual, connecting patients with loved ones when no one else could. It provided the catalyst needed for patients and providers to embrace telemedicine, and it made us even more determined to revamp our care management program and reimagine the doctor’s office of the future, all designed with our members’ health, well-being, and satisfaction in mind.

Health care will likely never be the same. As a not-for-profit, physician-guided, and member-centric health plan, CDPHP is committed to ensuring it is always better than it was – for our members, physician partners, employers, and our community, whatever health challenges arise in the future.
