In 2015, CDPHP continued to distinguish itself by the quality of its service and care management programs, the caliber of its physician network, and the excellence of its workplace climate. We pride ourselves on meeting or exceeding widely accepted benchmarks for quality on a number of fronts and have been recognized for our efforts with several awards.
Top-Quality Care and Service Excellence
Once again, CDPHP earned Excellent Accreditation in 2015, the highest accreditation status awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Additionally, according to the NCQA 2015-2016 Health Insurance Plan Ratings, six of the commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare plans offered by CDPHP were top-rated in New York. Two of the CDPHP commercial plans were among only 11 in the nation that received a 5 out of 5 rating. Plans were scored on consumer experience, disease prevention, and treatment, as well as NCQA accreditation.
CDPHP Medicare plans also garnered high marks, receiving an overall star rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).* These ratings are based on several parameters, including prevention efforts (screenings, tests, and vaccinations), chronic disease management, customer service, members’ experience of care and ease of access to care, and our health plan’s performance improvement.
*Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. Star ratings are calculated each year and may change from one year to the next.
Physicians’ Academy Awards
In tribute to the excellence of the physicians in our network, CDPHP inducted four of its physician partners – Dr. William Notis, Dr. Elena Rosenbaum, Dr. Ingrid Allard, and the late Dr. Syed Haqqie – into the CDPHP Physicians’ Academy in 2015.
Created in 2004, the Academy recognizes extraordinary physicians who are nominated by their peers and selected for the award by an esteemed panel of CDPHP board and Physicians’ Academy members. The award commends the honorees for delivery of high-quality care, development and observance of best practices, and a willingness to go “above and beyond” in mentoring colleagues and staff.
‘Best Company’ Status
In 2015, for the seventh consecutive year, CDPHP was named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York by the Best Companies Group, in conjunction with the New York State Society for Human Resource Management. The award is based on our workplace policies, systems, and practices, as well as a survey – open to all employees – that measures employee engagement.
This distinction reflects our company’s conviction that there is a correlation between a positive corporate climate and excellent customer service. We believe that, by offering our staff an environment that encourages personal and professional development, a healthy lifestyle, and a reasonable work-life balance, we will be able to attract and retain high-caliber, satisfied employees.
