Top-Quality Care and Service Excellence
As a community-based, not-for-profit health plan, CDPHP has always focused on triple aimdelivering health value to all our stakeholders, with a level of service second to none. Our efforts center around the Triple Aim: to provide our members with convenient access to high-quality health care at the lowest possible cost.

In 2016, our hard work was once again affirmed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance* (NCQA), which rated six of our health plans among the best in the nation. Two of the plans – Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan, Inc. and Capital District Physicians’ Healthcare Network, Inc. – were the only private plans in New York to receive an overall 5 out of 5 rating. Plans were scored on consumer experience, prevention efforts, and treatment, as well as NCQA accreditation.

Medicare Stars
CDPHP Medicare plans also garnered top ratings for quality and service. Our Medicare PPO plan received an overall star rating of 5 out of 5 stars, while the Medicare HMO plan received a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. The ratings are based on several key parameters, including:

  • Preventive health strategies (screenings, tests, vaccinations)
  • Management of chronic conditions
  • Members’ experience with their health plan
  • Member complaints, problems getting service, and health plan performance improvement
  • Customer service

Our efforts have resulted in CDPHP being recognized – for the ninth consecutive time – as one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York. The award, presented by the Best Companies Group in conjunction with the New York State Society of Human Resource Management, is based on our company’s workplace policies, systems, and practices, as well as the results of a survey that measures employee engagement.

 

 

*The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes clinicians in key clinical areas. NCQA’s HEDIS® is the most widely used performance measurement tool in health care. NCQA’s website (www.ncqa.org) contains information to help consumers, employers, and others make more informed health care choices.

†The HMO plan is offered to individuals and employer groups, while the PPO plan is offered through employer groups. Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. Star ratings are calculated each year and may change from one year to the next.
