May 6 - City of Cohoes - Mastodon Challenge

Race proceeds will benefit the Cohoes Multi-Service Senior Citizen Center to help fulfill its mission "to promote the dignity of older adults living in the community and to provide programs and services needed to support their living healthy and productive lives." Proceeds will also benefit the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program in Cohoes to help provide learning support to as many children and families as possible.

May 10 - Northern Rivers Family Services - Champions for Children

Join in honoring Albany Medical Center, Siena College, Paula Stopera and the CAP COM Cares Foundation, and Upstate Cakes for Kids for their outstanding contributions to children's health, safety, and well-being. Proceeds from the event help provide life-changing care to 14,000 children, adults, and families each year.

May 11 - Dake Foundation for Children - Child's Play 8 - Rockin' & Rollin' 2017

This annual event raises funds to support the mission of providing children with disabilities the tools they need to become as independent as possible. To date, the Foundation has committed thousands of dollars to local families for the purchase of services and equipment such as wheelchairs, ramps, adaptive strollers, adaptive tricycles, specialized therapy, and camperships at special needs camps.

May 13 - City of Albany - Tulip Ball

The Royal Tulip Ball is the crown jewel of the widely anticipated Tulip Festival weekend. Proceeds from this year’s Ball will benefit the Capital City Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of the Greater Capital Region. This fund was created to help nonprofit organizations better serve the people of Albany with effective and innovative programs and services.

May 17 - Arts Center of the Capital Region - Annual Gala

The 2017 Gala is the opening night of the highly celebrated Fence Show, our members’ show and largest exhibition of the year. The Arts Center will distribute $3,000 in awards to Fence Show artists and will present the Creative Spirit Award to Tom Nardacci and the Innovation Garage.

May 18 - Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC) - CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge

This 3.5-mile race/walk is the largest annual road race in the Capital Region. Proceeds benefit many of the HMRRC's activities and offerings, including scholarships, grants, and the Just Run program, as well as the 2017 charities of choice: Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany and Vanderheyden.

Free Classes at the Healthy Living Center

Visit the Healthy Living Center at the Hannaford in Albany to learn how you can take the first steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

The Healthy Living Center offers a variety of classes, programs, and workshops led by certified instructors, registered dietitians, and pharmacists from the YMCA, CDPHP, and Hannaford. Topics cover a wide range of areas, including fitness, nutrition, senior health, medication safety, disease management, and more. Membership is not required.
