ALBANY, N.Y. – October 14, 2013 –
CDPHP is thrilled to announce its Medicare HMO and PPO plans have received 4.5 out of 5 stars by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Each year, CMS rates Medicare plans on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, with 5 stars representing the highest quality. The overall scores are based on several key categories, including:
- Staying healthy: screenings, tests, and vaccines
- Managing chronic (long-term) conditions
- Member experience with the health plan
- Member complaints, problems getting services, and improvement in the health plan’s performance
- Health plan customer service
“At CDPHP, we work around the clock to ensure our members have access to the tools and resources they need to live healthier lives. These Star Ratings are a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and superior customer service.” said Dr. John Bennett, president and CEO, CDPHP.
In September, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) ranked CDPHP Medicare Choices HMO #1 in New York state (#9 nationally).
The open enrollment period for Medicare runs from October 15 to December 7, 2013.
