ALBANY, N.Y. – Aug. 9, 2017 – The third annual “Cornival” chefs’ challenge fundraiser, presented by CDPHP and SEFCU, was a huge success – raising more than $10,000 and donations of non-perishable food items for the City Mission of Schenectady!

Hundreds of people sampled corn-themed dishes from 14 local chefs and restaurants and had the chance to vote for their favorite.

For the second year in a row, Eurest at Patroon Café was the first-place “Golden Kernel” winner, with Druthers Brewing Co. taking second. The most creative dish award went to Clinton’s Ditch, which offered up a corn lasagna with crab.

In addition to those listed above, the following establishments graciously donated their time and culinary talents:

  • 677 Prime
  • ama cocina
  • City Line Bar and Grill
  • Innovo Kitchen
  • Legal Pantry
  • Old Daley Custom Catering
  • Normanside Country Club
  • Recovery Sports Grill
  • Seasons Catering
  • SEFCU Café Kitchen
  • Wellington’s

DeCrescente Disturbing Co. donated bottled water, and B95.5 provided musical entertainment.

Now in its third year, the “Cornival” aims to raise awareness and fight hunger and food insecurity in the Capital Region.
