Albany, N.Y. – December 19, 2017 – CDPHP is thrilled to announce the results of a year-long, employee-driven fundraising campaign that netted over $60,000 for two local charities. The efforts, all part of the CDPHP Charity of Choice campaign, give employees the opportunity to provide both financial and hands-on support to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

This year, CDPHP employees selected two local organizations – The Bus Stop Club and Family Promise of the Capital Region – to serve as the 2017 Charities of Choice. Throughout the year, employees organized dozens of fundraisers and exceeded their $50,000 fundraising goal.

“CDPHP employees never cease to amaze me,” said CDPHP president and CEO, Dr. John D. Bennett. “For the past seven years, our employees have wholeheartedly embraced this campaign, donating their time, money, and energy to local organizations in need,” added Bennett.

This year, for the first time, the CDPHP Charity of Choice campaign was successfully run through CDPHP The Foundation, the plan’s philanthropic arm which works to support the health, wellness, education, and cultural vibrancy in the Capital Region community.

About the Charities

The Bus Stop Club helps siblings of children with chronic illness or special needs get the social and emotional support they need to understand and cope with their brother’s or sister’s diagnosis and its impact on the family.

Family Promise of the Capital Region provides a comprehensive response to children and families experiencing homelessness. Its staff and volunteers work with existing social service agencies and faith communities to provide shelter, food, and case management services to assist homeless families in securing employment, permanent housing, and lasting independence, with dignity.

In 2018, CDPHP is proud to announce that Child and Family Service of Schenectady has been selected to serve as the 2018 CDPHP Charity of Choice.
