Facilitating Telehealth Services

To safeguard your health and that of our members, we are encouraging the use of telehealth/telemedicine as a first line of defense and improving access to that care, thereby effectively minimizing the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

  • CDPHP is providing coverage and reimbursement for medical and behavioral health telehealth/telemedicine consultations for all non-EPC attributed lives* and all lines of business, regardless of the reason for the visits, until June 30, 2021. Cost share resumed on July 1. 

  • All out-of-pocket costs for telehealth/telemedicine visits will be waived for our members,** including co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles, until June 30, 2021. Cost share resumed on July 1.

  • We have expanded access to cost-free telehealth/telemedicine options, including:

    • ER Anywhere, an emergency telehealth app available to members 24/7 for consultation, triage, testing, and treatment.

    • Doctor On Demand®, a telemedicine app, available 24/7, for medical and behavioral health consultation, testing, and treatment as a safe and convenient alternative to urgent care.

To expedite claims payments for telehealth/telemedicine visits, please refer to the guidelines included in our updated payment policy, located on our provider portal. This policy will remain in effect throughout the coronavirus pandemic.


* Telehealth/telemedicine visits for EPC attributed lives are covered as part of the standard EPC global payment structure.
