Registration is now open for the area’s signature 3.5 mile road race
ALBANY, N.Y. – February 23, 2022 – CDPHP and the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club (HMRRC) are announcing the return of the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge to downtown Albany on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 6:25 p.m. The 2021 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge was held at the Altamont Fairgrounds in late August, and the 2020 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge was canceled, both due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Race organizers are excited to get back to the Empire State Plaza and invite businesses to start spreading the word to employees about registration. Registration fees are $30 for in-person or $20 for virtual attendees.
Local not-for-profit Oakwood Community Center in Troy will receive important funds from the race. Proceeds will be used to support their Oakwood Techniques program, which exposes local students to a variety of genres/styles of dance, music, and theatre to lay a foundation for a lifelong love of the arts, as well as a solid understanding of how the performing arts can be used as a form of self-expression. Teams and individuals are encouraged to make contributions at the time of registration.
The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge is organized by and serves as a significant fundraiser for the HMRRC. In addition to raising funds for local charities, the race also helps to fund HMRRCs college scholarships, grants, and free race programs for local youth.
To keep participants and our greater community safe, all recommended COVID-19 precautions in place at the time of the race will be strictly followed. The registration deadline is May 1, 2022.
