Running for Charity

workforce team challengeCDPHP is the lead sponsor of the Workforce Team Challenge, the largest annual road race between Utica and New York City. This year, the 3.5-mile race/walk, hosted by Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club, was held on Thursday, May 19 at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. The race attracted more than 10,000 registered runners and walkers from hundreds of area organizations and businesses. Partial proceeds will benefit two local charitable organizations: Girls on the Run® Capital Region and Schenectady ARC.

Addressing Food Insecurity in the Community

More than 900,000 children in New York live in food-insecure households. The impact of hunger on a child’s health is significant – taking a toll on physical and mental health, as well as learning ability. That’s why CDPHP – for more than 15 years – has organized an annual holiday appeal to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York’s BackPack program. The program, which serves 2,500 elementary school children at 115 schools across 18 counties, provides nutritious, easy-to-prepare or ready-to-serve food to children in need.

Fitness in the Park

yoga in the parkCDPHP is taking its focus on fitness to the community by sponsoring Sunday morning yoga, boot camp, and Zumba classes at Riverfront Park in Troy from June 26 through August 28. We also offer free wellness and fitness classes at numerous locations in our service area throughout the year.

Fresh Produce on Wheels

Veggie MobileCDPHP is the primary corporate sponsor of the Capital Roots Veggie Mobile® and its smaller offshoot, the Capital Roots Veggie Mobile® Sprout. These colorful, one-of-a-kind “produce aisles on wheels” deliver fresh, nutritious, and affordable fruits and vegetables year-round to Capital District neighborhoods that lack a full-service grocery store or convenient transportation to stores offering fresh produce. The program’s objectives dovetail perfectly with our company’s goal of promoting health and wellness among our members and the community at large.

We Are Red Cross Ready

american red crossCDPHP collaborates with the American Red Cross Northeastern New York to help raise awareness of vital disaster readiness strategies and safety-related community resources. Our partnership with the ARC has resulted in frequent on-site blood drives, in-house citizen CPR and disaster preparedness training for our employees, and volunteer support for ARC-sponsored community events.

Promoting the Arts

• Performances presented by several area organizations and venues such as the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Proctors, The Palace Theatre, Capital Repertory Theatre, Park Playhouse, Troy Music Hall, Glimmerglass, and the Albany Symphony Orchestra

• Community libraries

• High school drama troupes

• Museums, arts education, and historical sites, including Yaddo, the Arts Center of the Capital Region, and the Albany Institute of History and Art
