Managed Care Pharmacy Residency Program
The CDPHP residency program provides a unique opportunity to engage in the advancement of the Quadruple Aim, which builds on the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's Triple Aim (the patient experience of care, population health & effectiveness and per capita cost efficiency) with the addition of provider satisfaction. Primary emphasis is placed on formulary management, policy development and maintenance, clinical programs, healthcare quality, strong clinical and data analytics, drug information, effective communication, and teaching/mentoring skills. Upon completion of the program, the resident will have an extensive understanding of managed care pharmacy with enhanced clinical skills. At the completion of the residency program, the pharmacist will be a well-versed participant of the health care team, in support of primary care, and be prepared to provide patient care, seek board certification in pharmacotherapy (i.e., BCPS), and pursue advanced education and training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies.
