ALBANY, N.Y. – October 14, 2025 – CDPHP today announced the upcoming retirement of president and CEO, Brian O'Grady, who will leave his post on December 31, 2025, after more than a decade of service to the not-for-profit, mission driven health plan.

“When I accepted the role of president and CEO of CDPHP 18 months ago, my ultimate goal was to lead this great organization to a path of financial sustainability, to ensure we can continue serving this community we call home. CDPHP has faced unprecedented financial headwinds in recent years, necessitating difficult decisions that tested our organization and our deeply valued stakeholders. Together with our parent organization, The Lifetime Healthcare Companies, we have made considerable progress, and after a great deal of personal reflection, I realize now is the time for me to step aside and let the next generation of leaders continue this journey. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity I had to lead CDPHP through this transformative time," added O'Grady.
“On behalf of the CDPHP Board of Directors, I want to recognize Brian for taking the helm of this important community-based organization when we needed him the most,” said Michael A. DeVito, MD, Chair, CDPHP Board of Directors. “While leading through a time of unprecedented financial strain, coupled with great organizational change, Brian provided exceptional guidance and effort to keep CDPHP the top health plan in the region. The board extends our heartfelt thanks to him.” added DeVito.
O'Grady has had an impressive career trajectory spanning nearly 40 years in health care, along with being a dedicated community leader. He has served on the boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations, including United Way of the Greater Capital Region, the Health Information Exchange of New York (Hixny), Southwestern Vermont Health Care, and the American Heart Association of the Capital Region. He will serve as honorary chair of The Food Pantries for the Capital District upcoming 14th Annual Harvest Evening Celebration.
The CDPHP Board of Directors has begun the process of appointing a new CEO. We will share additional information as it becomes available.
