Albany, N.Y. – August 4, 2026 – CDPHP® is pleased to announce that Dr. Brian Sheridan will be the plan’s next chief medical officer, assuming the post in September.

Dr. Sheridan joined the CDPHP board of directors in 2020 and previously served as a medical director and consultant for the company. He succeeds Dr. Bruce Coplin, who announced his retirement in April. Dr. Coplin joined CDPHP in March of 2019 after serving for many years on the CDPHP board of directors. Prior to that, he spent over 30 years as a cardiologist in the Capital Region.

Currently, Dr. Sheridan serves as managing partner of Schoolhouse Pediatrics Associates, the Capital Region's largest pediatric practice. In this role, he has led multi-site operations, expanded pediatric behavioral health services, and championed initiatives that improved access, quality, and outcomes for patients across our community.
Dr. Sheridan is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in psychobiology from Binghamton University and attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where he was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Sheridan completed his residency at Albany Medical Center.
