Important Changes to CDPHP Medicaid, HARP, and Child Health Plus Network

CDPHP takes seriously its responsibility to improve the health and well-being of the communities we proudly serve. Unfortunately, due to ongoing financial challenges, we have made the difficult decision to no longer offer our Medicaid, HARP, and Child Health Plus products in select New York counties, effective August 1, 2023.

Who is affected?

CDPHP will no longer offer Medicaid or HARP coverage in the following counties:

  • Broome
  • Clinton
  • Essex
  • Franklin
  • Tioga

CDPHP will no longer offer Child Health Plus in the following counties:

  • Broome
  • Clinton
  • Chenango
  • Delaware
  • Dutchess
  • Essex
  • Franklin
  • Herkimer
  • Madison
  • Oneida
  • Orange
  • Otsego
  • Tioga
  • Ulster

What do you need to do?

It is very important that members maintain health care coverage. To find a new plan, members should contact NY State of Health at www.nystateofhealth.ny.gov or 1-855-355-5777. In order to avoid a gap in coverage, members must enroll with a new plan before July 15, 2023.

Members in an ongoing course of treatment (such as pregnancy) should pay close attention to the new plan’s provider network to ensure their doctors continue to be covered.   Members who have a life-threatening disease or condition, or a degenerative and disabling disease or condition, or who have entered the second trimester of pregnancy by August 1, 2023 should contact the new plan for more information on continuing care with their current provider.

If a Medicaid or HARP member is hospitalized on July 31, 2023, CDPHP will either pay for that stay in full or share the cost of the stay with the new plan, following the specific rules in our contract with New York State Department of Health.
