Engaging the Community

In 2024, CDPHP corporate giving and community engagement efforts included:

  • $1.9 million in support for 425 nonprofit organizations and 452 community initiatives,

  • 213 employees logging 761 hours of service across 30 volunteer opportunities,

  • 295 events attended and 13 flu vaccine clinics held,

  • 8 Healthy Neighborhood events hosted in local communities.

Additionally, the CDPHP Worksite Wellness team provided education and wellness services to more than 13,000 employees across 100 employer groups. In 2024, wellness offerings expanded to include programming focused on mental well-being, financial wellness, and cultural competency.

CDPHP Foundation

The Foundation’s 2024-2025 funding priorities focus on programs or projects that improve access to health care services, inclusive of mental health and medical care, and community resources that address barriers to care. The Foundation put out an RFP for this focus in 2024 and selected two recipients for funding to be awarded in 2025. In 2024, the Foundation hosted a spring golf tournament and five employee-hosted fundraisers in support of the mission.

Some of the organizations supported by the CDPHP Foundation in 2024 include: the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, In Our Own Voices, the University at Albany Foundation, Capital Region Chamber Foundation, Albany Medical Center (John H. Carter Endowed Scholarship.

A Record Year for CDPHP Cycle!

CDPHP Cycle! users logged nearly 83,000 rides in 2024, shattering the previous record of 80,377 set in 2022. The program now includes 600 bikes, 200 of which are electric, and more stations than ever before. Since launching in 2017, riders have taken more than 371,000 trips using CDPHP Cycle!.

CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge

The 2024 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge raised $40,000 for Wizard’s Wardrobe and Reeling for Recovery. The event welcomed the largest field since the COVID-19 pandemic and served as a powerful reminder of the importance of healthy competition, social connection, and charitable giving.
