CDPHP Foundation
The Foundation’s 2025 funding priorities focused on programs and projects that improve access to health care services, inclusive of mental health and medical care, and community resources that address barriers to receiving care. The Foundation put out an RFP for this focus in 2025 and selected three recipients for funding to be awarded in 2026. In 2025, the Foundation hosted two golf tournaments, a pickleball tournament, and employee-hosted fundraisers in support of the mission.
Some of the organizations supported by the CDPHP Foundation in 2025 include: the Center for Disability Services, Community Maternity Services, the University at Albany Foundation, Capital Region Chamber Foundation, and the Albany Medical Center (John H. Carter Endowed Scholarship).
2025 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge
The 2025 CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge once again demonstrated its impact as one of the Capital Region’s largest and most meaningful community events. Organized in partnership with the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club, the event brought together thousands of participants from hundreds of organizations, reinforcing its role as both a wellness initiative and a powerful fundraiser. Media coverage of the 2025 event highlighted participation on a massive scale: More than 8,000 runners and walkers representing more than 400 businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations.
Beyond participation, the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge delivered tangible community impact. The 2025 event raised $45,000 for local nonprofits Unity House and Girls on the Run Capital Region. These funds directly support youth enrichment programs, expanded program access, and critical resources such as equipment, transportation, and financial assistance.
The event’s continued growth reflects a strong appetite for opportunities that promote both employee engagement and community connection. The CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge provides a unique forum for colleagues to reconnect, build camaraderie, and prioritize physical and mental well-being outside the workplace.
CDPHP Cycle! – A Record-Shattering 2025 Season
The CDPHP Cycle! program reached a historic milestone in 2025, marking its most successful season to date and highlighting growing demand for healthy, sustainable transportation across the Capital Region. Riders logged more than 100,000 trips in a single season for the first time in program history, setting a new benchmark for the bike-share system.
The milestone reflects widespread community adoption of cycling as both a recreational activity and a practical mobility solution. The program – operated in partnership with the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) – continues to make biking accessible to thousands of residents and visitors, supporting both public health and environmental goals.
The 2025 season also built on ongoing program innovation and expansion. With hundreds of bikes (including a growing number of e-bikes), multiple service locations across the region, and affordability-focused features like low per-mile pricing and incentive programs, CDPHP Cycle! has steadily evolved into an essential part of the region’s transportation network.
This record-breaking year not only reflects strong ridership but also signals long-term momentum. As the program approaches its 10th anniversary in 2026, it stands as a clear example of how strategic partnerships and community-focused investment can drive healthier lifestyles, reduce reliance on cars, and strengthen regional connectivity.
