Multi-Factor Authentication

A higher level of protection with Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security tool used to help keep your online accounts more secure from cybercriminals. It gets its name because it requires two different types of authentication factors:

  1. Something you know. This is your password.

  2. Something you have. This is often a separate email account, cellphone, or time-based one-time password (TOTP) application (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.).

MFA is a simple process that will give your data in your CDPHP member account added protection. Soon, when you log in to your member account, you’ll be prompted to complete your multi-factor authentication before being taken to your home page.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Sign in using your current username and password

  2. A message with your passcode will be sent to your email associated with your CDPHP member account

  3. Enter this passcode in the authentication window provided and click Sign In

  4. You’ll be brought to your member account home page

  5. After you log in for the first-time using MFA, you can navigate to “My Account” and select your preferred method of authentication (email, text, voice, or TOTP app)
